Gotokuji Temple

Time required from Yomiuri Land: About 50 minutes by bus, and train

Do you know about the "maneki neko" (beckoning cat)? This is an ornament that has been passed down for a long time in Japan as a good-luck charm.

At Gotokuji Temple, you can see tons of maneki neko ornaments! There are cats, cats, and more cats as far as the eye can see. Their cuteness is sure to captivate you.

Of course, the maneki neko ornaments are not the only thing worth seeing. On the grounds, there still remains the charms of traditional Japanese Buddhist temples, including a three-story pagoda, a bell tower, and more.

Hakone and Enoshima

Enoshima About 1 hour and 20 minutes by bus, and train

If you are taking a longer trip, how about going to either Hakone or Enoshima?

At Hakone's representative hot spring town, you can experience traditional Japanese hot spring culture. There are also tourist spots around the area, including Lake Ashinoko and Owakudani, so you are sure to have fun for a whole day!

Enoshima is a little closer than Hakone, and has a distinctively beautiful town that faces the ocean. The scenery at sunset is magnificent, and this is a well-known spot for picturesque scenery in Japan. There are also a lot of other things worth seeing including Enoshima Shrine, Enoshima Aquarium, and more! We also recommend that you enjoy Japan's seafood.
